A MediaSource Holiday Gift Guide: Our Team’s Columbus Favorites

Still rounding out your shopping list this holiday season? Our team is here to help!

We put together some of our favorite go-to gifting options to help with your last-minute shopping. And because we love our Columbus home, we kept it local!

Here are some fantastic Columbus gifts that we’re recommending this year:

Aleesia Forni – Public Relations Specialist

Macaroons from Pistachia Vera

Food is my go-to gift every year for nearly everyone in my family, even my young nieces and nephew! This year, I’m saving my family a trip to Paris by gifting an assortment of macaroons from Pistacia Vera. These delicious (and darling!) treats will be the perfect gifts to unwrap on Christmas morning.

Garry Checki – Senior Strategy and Analytics Specialist

Buckeyes from Anthony Thomas

When I spent the holidays with my girlfriend’s family in New Jersey a few years ago, I gave all of her relatives a box of Anthony Thomas Buckeyes. Her relatives had no clue what a buckeye actually was, and they were shocked to find out the college football team was named after a poisonous nut/delicious peanut butter and chocolate candy. I’d say buckeyes are a uniquely Columbus gift.

Evan Wilkerson – Social Media Specialist

Holiday Class Pass from Yoga on High

Give the gift of relaxation this year! Yoga on High offers class passes that are the perfect gift for yourself or a loved one. Whether you’re looking for a way to de-stress or just want a killer workout, this is the perfect way to gift peace and joy this holiday season!

Alyssa Moody – Public Relations Specialist

Gift Card from Cameron Mitchell Restaurants

I think a Cameron Mitchell gift card is a great gift idea. Each of their unique concepts all over town have an incredible menu, delicious cocktails and the best ambiance. Whether for date night, a birthday party or just a night out for fun, there’s a spot for every occasion and even the pickiest eaters will find something they love on the menu. Del Mar SoCal Kitchen is my personal favorite Cameron Mitchell spot — it’s sunny and inviting and radiates SoCal vibes, even in the middle of an Ohio winter.

Chelsea Taylor – Public Relations Specialist

Membership to the Central Ohio Mountain Bike Organization

A COMBO membership makes for the perfect experience gift for the outdoor adventurer. COMBO helps maintains trails around the area, and gifting a membership is a great way to donate to an organization that your friend or family member can be a part of for the entire year!

Andrew King – Content Writer

Gift Card from the Gateway Film Center

Seeing movies in the theater is my absolute favorite pastime, and since we’re not in New York or Los Angeles, we need all the help we can get to bring non-blockbuster films to town. That’s where the Gateway comes in. They host film festivals, debuts and more, and help bring a ridiculously eclectic selection of films to town. Sure, big chain theaters are nice sometimes, but it feels good to support a Columbus institution who’s doing great things for us as a film town.

Kevin Volz – Strategy and Analytics Manager

Sweatshirt from Homage

Homage is so great because their clothes are super soft — making them perfect for wearing out or lounging around the house — and they have a shirt for EVERYTHING. Love Ohio State? They’ve got you covered. Ohio’s professional teams? Check. Skyline Chili? You bet. They even have shirts dedicated to Cedar Point and Lake Erie, two of my favorite things! It’s been awesome watching them grow up in Columbus and gain exposure throughout the Midwest as they expand. Go Homage!

Lisa Arledge Powell – President

Lip Gloss from Mukha Spa

Makeup and skin-care guru Tim Maurer and the glam squad at Mukha Spa have been MediaSource’s go-to makeup artists for video and photo shoots for years. His lip color selection is the best, and makes for a great holiday gift.
